The overall aim of the SHARP-BASIC project is to provide a scientifically underpinned knowledge and data platform that can be used to build models for deriving SHARP diets for European citizens, i.e., a diet that is SHARP: Sustainable, Healthy, Affordable, Reliable and Preferable.
- Identification of SHARP indicators and an evaluation of their scientific quality.
- Development of a theoretical mathematical model for defining SHARP diets.
The ambition is to provide insight on the availability and quality of existing databases, and to construct a database with SHARP indicators. In addition, this project will develop the mathematical basis of the SHARP diet model, illustrated with food survey data. Deliverables should contribute to (inter)national expertise platforms on environmentally sustainable and healthy diets for EU consumers and public and private stakeholders, and allow them to make informed choices.
