Food Chain Sustainability and Dynamics
This theme addresses the question of how partners in the food chain can work together to improve food-system efficiency and efficacy. Future food chains need to operate in synergy with the environment and society, whilst sustaining profitability, in order to meet the global need for sufficient, affordable and high-quality food. The research investigates issues such as how to make optimal use of raw materials, water, energy and other resources and to develop closed-loop supply-chain models.
