TiFN Food Summit Personalised Nutrition

TiFN is pleased to announce the Food Summit ‘Personalised Nutrition’: High Hopes from the Low Lands ‘. The summit will take place on December 4, 2019 in Wageningen, in the centre of the Netherlands. Experts from different areas of personalised nutrition research are welcome to join.

Worldwide the epidemic of overweight and obesity has nearly tripled since 1975 with the accompanying risks for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. Lifestyle intervention has shown to be effective in the prevention of these chronic metabolic diseases but around 30% of the individuals do not respond and/or adher to intervention and long term maintenance of lifestyle benefits appears to be difficult. While dietary guidelines are evidence-based and valuable for the general population, it has become increasingly important and crucial to personalize nutritional approaches to obtain the highest improvement in health for all.

We look forward to welcoming experts from different areas of personalised nutrition research to have an overview of latest advances and state-of-the-art and innovations and discuss  the future of personalised nutrition as compared to public health approaches in panel and group discussions.
